I’m in the military and I moved from IL to OK, how do I change my residence?

If you are active military, then when asked for your resident state in the TurboTax program you enter your Home of Record or your State of Legal Residence, regardless where you are stationed, domestically or internationally.

Additionally, if your income is only from the military then where asked if you made money in another state you answer NO.  Also, where asked if you lived in another state you answer NO.

If you want to change your Home of Record or State of Legal Residence, you will have to speak with your personnel officer for the procedure.

How to change legal residence in military?

You should complete DD Form 2058 and file it with the finance office in order for your LES and W-2 to reflect your new domicile.
