@drjhwiedeman what happens when you pick the option to select a bank account?
even though the bank name changed, what is critical is whether the routing number changes - many times it doesn't when purchased by another bank. .

if you already filed, there is nothing to change until next year. The IRS does not accept any changes to banking information after the return has been filed in any event. it mitigates the risk of fraud,
Filed an extension for the first time in 30 years as a result of a W2 employer issue that is resolved now. I have not filed yet and the routing number is the same so I'm going to let it ride and see what happens. Hopefully Turbo Tax will let me fix it next year.
great! this was what i was curious about... so i would have to pay first and then have the option of changing my direct deposit account info. it was very confusing asking turbo tax help. they did not mention this part of it. thanks for this info.
No I don't think you have to pay first. You pay before you file or want to print.

If you have not filed yet, you can add or change it when you go though the FILE tab.
I have already put in my new banking account when I did my taxes this year
