How do I add a w2 after I already filed

If you have already submitted your tax return, you cannot add or edit a return. You would need to wait until the return has been accepted or rejected. 

If rejected, you will be able to edit the return and resubmit it. 

If accepted, you will need to follow the instructions here to amend your return.

@pinkyspinks If you have not e-filed or mailed in your tax return, please follow the instructions below to get back into your return to make changes and add a W-2.

How do I import or enter my W-2?

If you are not seeing "continue your return", you can get back in, by following the instructions below and then use the TurboTax FAQ above to enter your W-2:

1. In TurboTax Online, sign in to your account.
2. Select Tax Home in the left menu.
3. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
4. Select 2020, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right area).

You cannot enter 2020 tax data on a 2021 tax return.

To complete and file a 2020 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2020 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.
