Can anyone help ? My update status hasn't changed for 32 days. Just says take action, with no further instructions. Can't even get thru to make an appointment with my local IRS office.

You will need to contact the IRS. Please see How do I contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)? for more information, including the IRS phone number and hours of operation. You may want to try calling right when they open since they have been very busy throughout the day.

Thank you, but I've been calling all the numbers and all I ever get is the recorded messages to try again the next day. At 7:00 in the morning I get the"we're sorry. All our representatives are helping other customers. Please call back the next business day". If it's not that one it's the "you're refund is processing"  Honestly at this point I don't even think they're looking at it. I got accepted on 1/21 and message hasn't changed since.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to your IRS account so we are unable to tell you what needs action. Did it list a code? If so, please let us know as we may be able to tell you what the code means. 

 

Refunds usually take about 21 days after the IRS has accepted your e-filed return. Although, sometimes it can take longer. The IRS is taking more than 21 days (and up to 90 to 120 days) to issue refunds for tax returns with the Recovery Rebate Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit and Additional Child Tax Credit. The IRS issues most refunds from e-filed returns in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. The IRS issues refunds, not TurboTax. This means that we can't say for sure why you haven’t received your refund if it's been longer than 21 days since you e-filed. You are doing the right thing by reaching out to the IRS directly to find out more about the error you are seeing on the Where's My Refund? site. Please follow the steps as suggested by @TiffanyL and @MoniqueLO_.  In this public forum, we are unable to access your personal information to give advice on specific IRS notices.  

 

Here is another way that might get your through to the IRS quicker:

 

To call the IRS: 800-829-1040  

Hours: 7 AM - 7 PM, local time 

Monday-Friday

  • Listen to each menu before making the selection.
  • First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
  • Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
  • Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
  • Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".  
  • Then press 3 "for all other questions."
  • day
  • Then press 2 "for all other questions."  It should then transfer you to an agent.

No, I've heard nothing and the status hasn't changed. Still says take action but it doesn't say what action to take. No letters in the mail, I can't access my transcript, nothing. And trying to reach them is pointless cause it's all recorded messages.  Been over 30 days now
