I have used TurboTax to efile for years with no issues. This year both state and federal were rejected for my wife's incorrect AGI. Yet the amount is straight from my 2018 TurboTax records. Same Married Filing Jointly status but my wife did pass away this year - 2019. What's going on? I do not want to paper file and I have already paid to file state electronically.

If your tax returns were rejected because of an incorrect AGI and you are sure you entered a correct one we suggest that you check with the IRS to make sure that the copy of your return is the same as what they have in their records. Sometimes the IRS makes adjustments to tax returns. To do this, you can order a tax return transcript.
Please see this TurboTax FAQ for more information: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/rejections/help/what-if-i-entered-the-correct-agi-and-i-m-still-ge...
I went through the Steps and I got my Last Year's Return Transcript from teh IRS. The AGI is EXACTLY the same as TurboTax 2018 has and is EXACTLY the same as I submitted on my Federal eFile.
I am left with the only option of snail mailing my returns. That isn't great, but I appear to have no other choice. The kicker is I have already paid to eFile my State forms through TurboTax and can't find any method short of contacting the Credit Card company of getting that ineffectual payment back.

Same Issue. Entered the correct AGI from 2018. Only difference this year is husband passed away last year. Would entering 0 for AGI make the IRS accept when I efile?
You have the option to mail your return, which is the usual route to go. I'm sorry for your loss!
Here's two articles that address your specific issue.
2019 Federal Return Rejected due to Spouse AGI
All the comments I've read so far match my experience. My husband died on January 2, and my return was rejected twice due to the AGI being incorrect, even though I copied it off last year's return exactly.
I, too, have already paid for the state via credit card ($26+) and now will have to mail the hard copy to avoid any other aggravation. Talking to the IRS seems like a waste of time.
You can contact us about receiving a refund on your state filing fee since your state return cannot be e-filed due the social security lock on our deceased spouse's record.
