I have used TT for the past 5 yrs, I don’t think I’ll be using them next year, they promote how their on your side and with all their different editions you can pay for I’m paying over $200 for a service that can’t do anything other than file my taxes, you can’t get anyone to actually give you any information on your refund, you can’t get anyone to contact irs on your behalf, their about as useful as the irs when it comes to updates, I’m reflecting now and see that I have severely over paid for a service that can’t do anything for me
filed feb 11
accepted feb 12
still nothing, no letters, no updates, the same response of 9 out of 10 returns in 21 days blah blah blah, no one at TT is willing to investigate on my behalf, so this is the last year I’m using TT, I’ll figure something else out

Apparently what you do not understand is that TurboTax cannot legally find out any information from the IRS after you file your tax return. TurboTax is a software company. The IRS does not and will not share any information about an individual taxpayer with TurboTax. There are all kinds of delays for federal refunds this year. The IRS began with a huge backlog from 2019, and delayed opening the tax filing season. As soon as they opened on February 12, they received millions of tax returns. And very shortly after that, Congress passed new stimulus laws that required the IRS to begin issuing another round of millions of stimulus checks, AND the IRS has to change forms, recalculate millions of returns that were filed with unemployment, etc. etc. etc. You are understandably frustrated with waiting, as are many others. But this is not under a tax software company's control.
But use any tax software you want to use next time. Hopefully when you file your 2021 tax return it will not be in the middle of a pandemic and in the middle of a tax season in which Congress and a lot of states change tax laws after millions have filed. You will probably get next year's refund faster--and think it is because you used different software.
Clearly you didn’t understand what my post was actually about, My post was more about how we pay for a service and it doesn’t seem like there’s any reason to pay unless your a business, I could of done my taxes for free and had the same outcome, I was pretty sure “talk to the irs on your behalf” was part of the deal but maybe that was only if you get audited.
your obviously a keyboard warrior, thank you for rushing to TT defense but you just sound like one of their tools.
here I can post links too
