After you file
Apparently what you do not understand is that TurboTax cannot legally find out any information from the IRS after you file your tax return. TurboTax is a software company. The IRS does not and will not share any information about an individual taxpayer with TurboTax. There are all kinds of delays for federal refunds this year. The IRS began with a huge backlog from 2019, and delayed opening the tax filing season. As soon as they opened on February 12, they received millions of tax returns. And very shortly after that, Congress passed new stimulus laws that required the IRS to begin issuing another round of millions of stimulus checks, AND the IRS has to change forms, recalculate millions of returns that were filed with unemployment, etc. etc. etc. You are understandably frustrated with waiting, as are many others. But this is not under a tax software company's control.
But use any tax software you want to use next time. Hopefully when you file your 2021 tax return it will not be in the middle of a pandemic and in the middle of a tax season in which Congress and a lot of states change tax laws after millions have filed. You will probably get next year's refund faster--and think it is because you used different software.
