Not on prepaid cards. 😎😎🤣🤣🤣
That is not true. Payment Complete means; you sent an order in for a refund, so the refund Payment is pending. Once the FUNDS has been received it will update to payment complete.
I'm having the same exact issue this year and the year before this my tax return disappeared and I still haven't gotten it either and I paid $200 out of my pocket for that year
@shouse_2021 No one in the user forum can see your tax returns or your account, nor can we get any sort of information regarding the IRS and whether they have processed your returns. You say you paid out of pocket for your 2020 return---if so, the third party bank is not involved with your 2020 refund in any way, so you are still just waiting for the IRS.
The IRS is severely backlogged so there have been many delays and you may still be waiting for them to finish processing your 2020 return. Did you file by mail or did you e-file it? Do you know that it was accepted? Recently the IRS refund site changed so that you can check on a 2020 refund now, so look on the IRS site for information about your 2020 return. You need your filing status, your SSN and the exact amount of your 2020 refund from line 35a.
And....sadly.....there have been a lot of delays for 2021 refunds too. Again---use the IRS refund site to check for information on your 2021 refund. If you chose to have your 2021 TurboTax fees deducted from your 2021 refund, then the third party bank is involved and the refund goes to them first. After the IRS issues your refund the third party bank extracts your TT fees and sends you the rest.
If you mailed your 2021 return, it is taking the IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait. It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax. TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.
Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.
You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

No because mine said payment pending last night and now today it says payment complete and I filed January 19 and was accepted with a date of the 22nd for direct deposit... you're wrong when it says payment complete it means they got their money
@Paigeash100 You are posting to a thread that is two years old. Whether TT "got their money" from "refund processing" does not determine when you will get your refund. The IRS determines when you will get your refund. The source of information for that is the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
Use the IRS Refund Tracker "Where's My Refund?" to check your status: Click here for "Where's My Refund?"
There are several steps that take place after you transmit your return in TurboTax.
Once your return is accepted by the IRS you are on their payment timetable. The IRS is the only one that has the information about the status of processing your tax return, and whether you owe taxes or are due a refund, and how much.
In prior years, the IRS has issued most refunds to taxpayers in less than 21 days.
You can click here for "Why is My Refund Taking More than 21 Days?", for additional information.
Click here for "When Will I Get My Refund?"
