Can I get a refund advance since my tax return has been accepted?

Same here, I was told I was approved then over a week later get an email saying I wasn’t approved. I would have had my return sent to my checking account, I didn’t need another crappy green dot card. Thanks for nothing!

You’ll receive your Refund Advance virtual card info within 1 hour of the IRS accepting your e-filed return, by email. Any balance of your tax refund remaining will be sent to you after the IRS has accepted and processed your tax return, usually within 21 days.  To check the status of your refund, or to track your federal refund, look on the IRS Where's My Refund site.

If you are eligible for the Refund Advance you can request it in the Review section. If you have already filed you will not be able to request the advance.  Please see this Turbo Tax FAQ regarding the Refund Advance. Click on How do I know if I'm eligible for Refund Advance? If you have not filed yet you can change your method and request the advance. This Turbo Tax FAQ will show you how to change your method. How do I change my refund method? Change refund method

Refund Advance eligibility

Here are some of the eligibility requirements to qualify for a Refund Advance loan:

  • You’re 18 or older
  • You’re not a resident of North Carolina, Connecticut, or Illinois
  • You’re e-filing your federal tax return with TurboTax
  • Your physical address is listed on your tax return. Your address must be located in one of the eligible states and can’t be a PO box or prison address
  • You’re not filing one of these tax forms: 1310, 4852, 4684, 4868, 1040SS, 1040PR, 1040X, 8888, or 8862
  • You aren’t filing on behalf of a deceased taxpayer
  • You must report income on a Form W-2, 1099-R , Sched C, or Sched CEZ

The refund loan will not be available until later in January when you can e-file your 2021 return.   The money for the loan is not given to you until the IRS ACCEPTS your e-file.  The IRS will not begin to accept e-files until late January or early to mid-February.

You cannot apply for the refund loan.  It has to be offered to you, and you have to agree to the terms—-which have changed since last year——so read some information——and pay attention to the details in the fine print …  https://turbotax.intuit.com/refund-advance/

Idk if this is true I have heard if you don’t get approved for refund advance you can go to another tax service and see if the bank they use will approve you

@hvnsntangl777 If you already e-filed your tax return you cannot file again.   So going to another tax preparer and filing again would be a pretty bad approach.   Sorry.
