If I e-file my Federal return do I not have to submit the W-2 and other tax statements?  If they have to be submitted how is it done; they are not referenced on Form 8453.

The e-filed tax return includes all the tax data entered from forms W-2 and 1099 so that there is no need to send those forms with the tax return.
