If the only reason to amend the return is if you accidentally said you would be claimed by someone else then don't bother doing an amendment. It will not process by the end of the year. When you file the 2020 return, if you don't make the same error again, you can apply for the stimulus then.
@Oakland 510 You have been posting questions and comments in the forum for several months--all about getting a stimulus check. I have just read all of them. It sounds like you have not filed an actual tax return since at least a 2017 return. The IRS does not use banking information from 2017 returns for your stimulus check. They use banking information from a 2018 or 2019 return----which you say you did not file. You say used the IRS non-filer site in April to get a stimulus check. If you were eligible for a stimulus check and if you entered your banking information correctly you should have received the check by now. So something went wrong. Maybe you entered something incorrectly on the non-filer site. Or were you claimed as someone else's dependent? If someone else claimed you as a dependent then you are not eligible for a stimulus check. Or...if you owe back child support you cannot get a stimulus check. You do not have a tax return to "amend" so forget that strategy.
At this point, you just need to wait and file a correct tax return for 2020. The stimulus checks that people received in 2020 were an advance on a credit that you can get when you file your 2020 tax return. You will have a chance to get it if you are eligible when you prepare and file a 2020 tax return in early 2021.
TurboTax has no control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it for you or tell you when the IRS will issue it. Refer to the sites linked below:

The stimulus check is an advance on a credit you can receive on your 2020 tax return. If something went wrong or you did not get the stimulus check this year, you can get it when you file your 2020 return in early 2021—if you are eligible.
