2020 Federal Tax Return Rejected

Hi,

My federal tax return was rejected with the code IND-031-04 The primary taxpayer's AGI or Self-select PIN from last year does not match IRS records.

I corrected the information as requested and it was still rejected.

For my 2019 federal tax return I did not E-file, I prepared the return on software, printed it out and mailed the return with a check.

I do not have a Self-select PIN for the 2019 return.

I did enter the AGI amount for my 2019 return on the software were indicated and it was still rejected.

What do I need to do so I can e-file my 2020 return.

Well I'll tell you, I refiled and like y'all did, put in zero for the AGI. come to find out I really don't even need to file.

I tried to put a 0 in for my agi and that didn’t work either

I was told by a Turbo Tax representative this evening that this is what their internal documentation says to do.  She said that the IRS is really backed up due to Covid and even though I put in the correct AGI their records may not indicate that yet as they may not have gotten to my return yet.  Obviously when they do they will see that zero is incorrect and correct it.  I filed my 2019 late as well in January, 2021 and of course through the mail.  She said that if I get a second rejection just I would most probably have to mail the return in.  She also said that it may take a couple of days for the rejection to come through as opposed to a couple of minutes when I got the first rejection.

I got fed up with the rejections (pun intended) for the same reason. But I had sent my 2019 paper return in last summer!  Obviously they are still hanging around unprocessed.  So I just couriered mine (2020) to Austin TX using FedEx. That is where expats have to send it if you don't file online. It was received by a human at their mail facility.  I have proof!! 

It cost me almost $35 as I live in the UK.  Now I will wait to see if I get my 2nd stimulus payment as the TT update put in the form to claim it as a rebate on the 2020 return.  So first I have paid for TT to be sent from the US via Amazon and that cost a fortune.  I wish we could us online TT, it's really annoying and expensive. I think it might be time to find other tax filing software. OLT will let those outside the US file online with no problems.
