There may be forms required for your federal or most likely your state tax return that aren't yet available. If that is the case, the program will not let you e-file. You can check the status of the specific forms needed for your returns the links below.

Thank you for the response. I think you might be correct here. Either its a bug with Turbo tax application or it does not have all the forms to e-file the taxes. Having said that It should not have charged my credit card for filing federal and state. It should charge only when they were able to successfully let me file my taxes. Also the error message is very generic and it does not say what forms are missing (federal/state). In this case turbo tax should refund my money until they let me to file my taxes successfully.

@ping2mj  Do you have a large number of imported stock or cryptocurrency transactions on your return?  If so, refer to the following Help Article for assistance:  How do I file my return when I see the Transmission Trouble screen?

If the above does not pertain to you, it's possible that you have Federal or State forms included in your return that are not yet ready for e-filing (as stated above by @MichelleLO).  Refer to the Help Articles below to check when forms will be available:

No stocks or cryptocurrency on my returns. No itemized deductions. Just the basic standard deductions. I had issues few days ago to file my NC state taxes and the applications says that D400 is not available to file my state taxes and yesterday I received an email saying that D400 is available now and I can file my taxes. I paid the tax filing fee, entered all the details that turbo tax was asking, and while filing it says

Your transmission didn't go through We could not e-file your return for the following reason

-Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available

My questions is why the application failed to deduct this issue before I pay the turbo tax fee?

It may be that Form D-400 became available for print and triggered the email notification to you. However, Form D-400 is not scheduled to be available for e-filing until February 24, 2022. You can monitor the status of the form in the below link. If the form becomes available sooner than the currently published date, the article will be updated to provide the new availability date.
