You say I owe the state, TaxFreeUSA says I don't, why are you guys absolutely the worst? Are you stealing my the money I'm "paying to the state"? That's terrible of you.

And you hold all of last years information hostage even though I paid you upwards of $30 to file for me. TaxFreeUSA does it for free. This product is terrible and you should feel terrible. Now I wait another week to get my AGI from the government while you hold it hostage for $50, I will never use this system again, it's ridiculous and a pain all so you can steal my "state" refund which is negative.... liars...

Apparently you misunderstood several things.   TurboTax does not charge you $50 for a copy of your 2017 return.  The IRS, however, charges $50 for an actual copy of a past return.  But you can also get a free transcript from the IRS which will show you the 2017 AGI that you need.  If you need a 2017 on file with TurboTax you can pay $19.99 for PLUS to access it (not $50).  You could have avoided that by saving your past return as a tax file and as a pdf before October 15, 2018 and then you would have it on your own hard drive where you could access it freely any time.

As for the difference you are seeing between Tax Free USA and the results on TurboTax, that means you had to enter something differently in one of the software programs.  All of the tax software programs have to comply with the current tax laws and the software has to be approved by the IRS.  So entering exactly the same data should yield the same results.  Which one is correct?  We do not know, since we do not know what you entered on those programs.  it is always tempting to believe the one that gives the biggest refund  or the least tax due is the "right" one.  TurboTax is not stealing your refund.  You are free to file your return where ever you choose to file it.
