What do I answer for the Schedule C error I am recieving for my Americorps 1099-misc?

I used an Americorps award towards fed student loan payments in 2015 so I received a 1099-MISC. I entered the information to file the 1099-misc, but then during the review process I received an error to fill out the 1040 Schedule C information. I'm not sure how to answer these questions since it wasn't really my own business and the info isn't on the 1099... questions include accounting method, address, principal business code, business name, material participation, and required to file 1099.

If you don't have anything in box 7, you aren't required to file a Schedule C.

If you need to delete Schedule C in TurboTax Online:

1. Go to "My Account" in the top right corner

2. Select "Tools"

3. Under "Tools Center" select "Delete a Form"

4. Navigate to "Schedule C" and select "Delete" next to it

If that does not work, try this:

1. Go to the search bar in the top right corner

2. Enter "Schedule C"

3. Select "Jump to Schedule C"

4. Answer "No" to "Did you have any income and expenses for a business in 2015?"

5. Continue answering these questions appropriately until finished with the section

To Enter Your 1099-MISC:

1. Go to "Federal Taxes"

2. Choose "Wages and Income"

3. Select "I'll choose what I work on"

4. Scroll down to "1099-MISC and Other Common Income", select "show more"

5. Select "Income from Form 1099-MISC"

6. Continue through the interview questions

Was there an amount in box 7 on your 1099-MISC?

No, only box 3 had anything in it.

You do not need to file a Schedule C, unless you have expenses that were associated with the income you made that you would like to claim.
