my husband files using a 1099-misc form and i receive a w-2 can we file together using turbo tax? and can we use one of our preexisting accounts or do we need to create a new one?

Joint taxes with a 1099-misc

Yes you can (and probably should) file Joint.  Why do you have separate accounts?  Did you get married in 2016?  You can use either account.  Use the account for the person you want to be listed first and add the other spouse to it.
