How can I correct the following? on the your income screen, dividends on 1099-div shows a number that is twice the total of my entries on the edit screen.

Without reviewing your tax return(s), it is difficult to determine. There may be various underlying income source(s), such as Form 1099-B, Schedule K-1, installment sales, etc. (not just Form 1099-DIV).

If you are using TurboTax Online, you may select the Federal on the left panel and Wages & Income on the top and then Edit/Revisit the income section(s) you have already entered to help determine the actual source(s) of the dividend income.

If you are using TurboTax Online and don't want to pay to download/print yet, you will only be able to preview Form 1040/1040A/1040EZHow do I preview my TurboTax Online return before filing?

Before paying to download/print, you could also see which forms are included in your tax return(s) by using the delete a form function (but do not actually delete forms): How do I delete forms in TurboTax Online?

If you wanted to review other forms/schedules/worksheets, you would have to pay to download/print (not necessarily e-file yet): How do I print a copy of my TurboTax Online return before filing? (I wouldn't suggest doing this until you have completed your tax return(s) and you have gone through the Review section to ensure you have no errors since you will not be able to delete/re-transfer state tax return(s) after paying for them, if necessary.)

You could start with Schedule B since it reports interest and ordinary dividends.
