Why was I charged $90 for turbo tax fees?

To check your fees in TurboTax follow these steps:

1. While you are in your Tax Home,
2. Scroll down on the left hand side of your screen and select Tax Tools,
3. Select Tools,
4. Select My Fees

If your TurboTax fees are higher than expected, you can reduce them by removing add-ons:

1. Remove PLUS Help & Support
2. Remove Pay With Your Refund
3. Remove Premium Services
4. Remove MAX Defend & Restore
5. Remove a state

6. As a last resort, you can clear and start over to remove all fees and start from scratch as long as you haven't paid, registered, or deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund.

Things like add-ons, upgrade and Premium Services will cause your TurboTax fees to increase. If you don't know or understand what you are being charge for you can Review Your Fees to see a breakdown.

I never added any of their dumb ads-ons either & I was still charged $90 last year. I didn’t care cuz it was my first year filling with my new business & I wanted everything to be correct. But this year, with COVID.. nope. Not paying that. I’m just a simple sole proprietor. Nothing more. However all the above things that were posted to check, I don’t have on. They even said it would be free & don’t even say until the end when you just want to be done already.
