Why Turbotax (online) does not populate information from my previous tax return?

I've been using Turbotax (online version) for 10+ years. When preparing my 2023 tax online, it did not carry over information from my previous tax returns (2021 & before). I have to type in *ALL* the information such as:

* my last name, SSN, 

* spouse's last name, SSN, 

* dependent's info (all info)

* bank accounts, etc.

* more...

 

It treats me like it's the first time I am using Turbotax. I did use the same login ID as I used before, as I can see all my previous 10+ years tax return in my account, and I am using the same product "Turbotax Premium".

 

This is a BIG hassle as I have to dig out all my previous tax returns to find the correct information.

 

Any clue how to fix this issue?

Why Turbotax (online) does not populate information from my previous tax return?

You  seem to already know that you have to be in exactly the same account using the same user ID.  The transfer of the previous year information has to be done BEFORE you start to enter any new 2022 information at all.

If you still cannot get the transfer to happen correctly after clearing and starting over, contact support.

had you asked before spending all that time, I would have suggested you wait to contact support when it opens on Monday.
