Why is my return less than expected amount, does the rest come later?

It's was supposed to be $1803 but only received $1007

Federal and state are sent separately----did you get one but not the other yet?   Or---if this is only about your federal return----look at the IRS refund site to see how much it says the IRS sent to you and make sure of whether the IRS reduced your refund for back tax, child support, etc.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2022 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

You will receive a letter from the IRS stating what they came up with and any changes they made. Watch the mail for it.
