I've use Desktop TurboTax for many years because I do not want my information stored on Intuit servers. However, in order to import from financial institutions this year, Intuit is now requiring me to use a Intuit account as a (hacker favorite attack) man-in-the-middle between my computer and the financial institution in the name of "security". Please explain how adding an extra server holding my information increases security in any way? Why does Intuit want access to my financial information so badly and what are they planning to do with it? Why did Intuit decide to go down this ugly road?

I called [phone number removed] before asking here. I was told they only provide tax help, and then she hung up on me.
I am not sure who you contacted, but Turbo Tax support is for help with technical and system issues.

@User_Joe
The phone number the forums removed from my previous post was that 800 4 Intuit number. That's the only number I've seen for customer support. They had no interest in explaining anything, told me they were there only for tax help and hung up while I was talking.
