Why is Intuit using a man-in-the-middle account to skim information from Desktop TurboTax?
I've use Desktop TurboTax for many years because I do not want my information stored on Intuit servers. However, in order to import from financial institutions this year, Intuit is now requiring me to use a Intuit account as a (hacker favorite attack) man-in-the-middle between my computer and the financial institution in the name of "security". Please explain how adding an extra server holding my information increases security in any way? Why does Intuit want access to my financial information so badly and what are they planning to do with it? Why did Intuit decide to go down this ugly road?
