I am getting this message for my 1099-R: After manually entering an exclusion amount above, you will not be eligible to electronically file your Massachusetts tax return.
And then it says "Tax-Exempt Pension should not be entered directly on Form 1 for State Electronic Filing." I entered the 1099-R on my Federal Return and I even tried to delete it on my State because it says it shouldn't be entered on Form 1. Can someone explain what I need to do to fix this so I can E-File and not have to mail in my return?
You may need to delete the state return and then re-add it to remove the error. It sounds like whatever was prepopulated on the state input is still there and not clearing.
First, I recommend the following as it may rectify the issue.
Instructions to clear cookies to restart TurboTax
If that does not clear the issue on your state return, do the following to repopulate the state return.
You can access your state income tax return by selecting State in the black panel on the left hand side of your screen when logged into TurboTax.
i am in massachusetts...the form that you enter drivers license numbers into accepted my number and all the data....why cant i enter my spouse drivers license number??it give popup of invalid data...which means that as much as i try to enter ,.,,no way ...i paid for this silly aggravation?
You can use the option to skip the spouse identification information.
Every time I try to charge my credit card the screen as if i want to save this file and I click yes and then the screen goes blank. Any help is appreciated.
Ohio
Turbo Tax has to give you a reason why it cannot e-file your Ohio return. Forms in various states are not available because the state is lagging. Once the state updates, Turbo Tax will do so in a reasonable time after.

Your post on that topic might not be seen in this cluttered old thread. Usually it's best to start one's own new thread to get the most attention. I'll see if I can get someone who might be familiar with pensions to help you.
Are you familiar with reporting pension income in Massachusetts by any chance and able to assist this user when you are next in the forum? Thanks!
I'm not familiar with MA taxes.
Intuit specialist helped me out.
