@dangle43 asked: "Why am I charge $45 on top of state and federal filing charges?"
Are you a California filer, and did you choose to pay your product fees out of the Federal refund? If so, in California that "pay out of refund" option automatically adds "Premium Services" bundle at $45. Features of Premium Services include the ability to pay your fees out of the Federal refund, Audit Defense, ID monitoring/restoration, priority care, etc.
If you haven't yet completed your order, and don't want it, you can remove Premium Services and pay upfront by credit/debit card and thus avoid the $45 fee. Here's how:
To remove the $45 fee you have to first remove Premium Services and then pay your product fees upfront with credit/debit card or a prepaid debit card you can buy in store. See the following:
FAQ: How do I remove Premium Services? (California filers)
yes, this is very easy. if you pay for money from federal refund, turbotax let you spend $45.
if you pay for it from credit/debit card, you don't spend $45
i hope it can help you
how to remove it from Windows PC version? I already pay 65$ and I use it only myself.

Remove what? You didn't provide any of your story. You said "remove it", but didn't say what the "it" is. So I don't know if you are in California and want to remove "Premium Services" fee of $45, or if you are in a different state and want to remove standalone Audit Defense $45, or what.
If you plan to efile a state return, there is a 24.99 fee to efile the state return, except no fee for New York state. There is also no fee to print and mail the state return.
If you plan to efile a state return and thus have the 24.99 fee, how did you plan to pay for it? If you pay upfront with credit/debit card, there is no additional service fee. If you choose to pay that 24.99 fee out of the Federal refund, there is a $45 fee for California filers (or $40 for filers in other states.)
Are you a California filer, and if so, did you choose to pay a 24.99 state efile fee out of your Federal refund? If so, in California that payment method adds "Premium Services" for $45. The way to remove Premium Services is to go through the FILE section and choose to pay by credit/debit card instead.
If you are not in California and chose Audit Defense for $45, we can tell you how to go back and remove Audit Defense.
Thanks for reply.
I reply this thread, of couse it is the premium bundle thing. why I chose to pay 24.99? there is no option. I use Home&Biz PC version, I already payed it, and it should suppose to support one federal and one state efile, why should I pay extra?
There is no option to selec from FILE menu for me, I guess it is different between different version.

When I mentioned the FILE section above, I wasn't talking about the File menu in the top left corner of the TurboTax interface. I was talking about the FILE tab--the tab you use to select a filing method, to pay, and to transmit the return. The Home and Business Edition has a FILE tab just like all the other editions. See this image:
.
When you go far enough through the screens in the FILE tab, it will eventually ask you how you want to pay the 24.99 state efile fee. I believe it's a screen that will have 2 buttons: one button saying "pay by credit/debit card," and the other button saying "pay out of the Federal refund" or similar words, and that's where the choice is made.
If you choose to pay the 24.99 state efile fee by credit/debit card then you won't be charged for Premium Services. If you choose to pay the 24.99 fee out of your Federal refund, however, then if you are a California filer, it will charge you an additional $45 for Premium Services (in addition to the 24.99 state efile fee.)
You asked: "I use Home&Biz PC version, I already payed it, and it should suppose to support one federal and one state efile, why should I pay extra?"
That's a common misconception. The desktop version allows 5 free Federal efiles, but it does not include a free state efile. What is included is the 1 state program to prepare the state returns. But there is a 24.99 fee to efile each state return (except no state efile fee for New York state.) There is also no fee to print and mail the state return, so you can avoid the 24.99 fee that way, if you wish.
Thanks a lot.
This explanation is much clear.
You're welcome. Good luck.
i paid to buy the service in the store and received a code i thought this would cover the whole process and i was still charged over $60 to file for both state and federal taxes
No, you don't have to pay for the service, use your debit card/credit card just pay $20 is ok
Hi,
I bought my Delux version from Costco. I was about to efile my Federal and California and first, it says $25. I have federal refund and state tax to pay which I choice pay from my checking account. Then I came to the page with Add Audit Defence and Continue , both button highlighted. I didn't click the Audit. Then came to "You Purchase online" page and then I am lost. What and where is my confirmation #, is it the product key?
How can I just pay $25?
Thanks

If it's asking for a state efile confirmation number, you'll likely need to talk to TurboTax Support for assistance. I'll tell you how to reach them below.
NOTE: Be aware that you should pay the $25 state efile fee by credit/debit card to avoid an additional service fee. If you were to choose to pay that $25 out of your Federal refund, in California it would add Premium Services Bundle (which includes ID protection services, Audit Defense, etc.) to your fees and charge you an additional $45.
Please reach out to TurboTax Customer Support for assistance.
Support hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern), 7days/week.
