I am married filing jointly and am using Home and Business to do my taxes.
I have an adult child (May 2002 born) had some W2 income as well through a summer job. Where do I capture this in Turbotax? My son is a full time student and still dependent on me - if that information is useful.

If I understand the situation correctly, what you are wishing to determine is where your son's income is reported. Since this income belongs to your son, it would be reported not on the tax return of the parent (your return) but on your son's tax return.
Your understanding of my question is correct. I should have made it clearer. Having said that, does he need to file his own tax return even though he is still dependent on me and reported as such on my tax return?
You don't include their income on your return. It would only go on their return if they are required to file one. They don't have to file if they only have Social Security or W2 income under 12,550 but can file to get back any withholding taken out in boxes 2 or 17. But you don't get boxes 4 or 6 back. If they got a 1099NEC for it they do have to file a tax return for it.
Be sure on the dependent return you check the box that says you can be claimed on someone else’s return. If their only income is W2 and under 12,550 they do not have to file a return except to get back any withholding taken out.
Filing requirements for a dependent
To start a new return go up to FILE - New. But first be sure to save your return with a unique name so it doesn’t get confused with another return. Go to File-Save or Save As. Because if you do another return and they have the same first name or initial as you their return might save over yours.
And be in the habit of saving Frequently! When you are done save both the .tax data file and save it as a pdf file, go to File-Save to PDF. Then you won’t need the program installed to view or print your return in the future. Like if you need a copy to get a loan or something. And save backups off of your computer like to a flash drive or burn a CD.
Yes, even though he is a dependent, since he has a W2, he would need to file his own tax return. If his W2 income was less than $12,500 then he would not need to file a return unless he had taxes withheld. Then he could file to get a refund of the taxes that were withheld.
