1099-Misc is not wages. it is to report amounts paid to a business which can be in the form of a sole-proprietorship (SP) a SP reports his/her income on schedule C. if you enter the 1099-misc the amount should flow automatically to schedule C where you would enter your business related expenses.
See the following FAQ for instructions to enter a Form 1099-MISC.
Income on a 1099-MISC is not wages. If the income is in box 7, it's business income. You are in business for yourself, also called self-employed. If you have business expenses to deduct against your business income you will have to upgrade to TurboTax Self-Employed to enter the expenses, or you can use any edition of the CD/Download TurboTax software instead of TurboTax Online.
That is self employment income. You have to file it on schedule C and pay self employment tax.
You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version. Or any of the Desktop programs. But you will get the most help in the Home & Business version.
