Once you are accepted, you are on the IRS payment timetable. TurboTax gives an estimated date for your refund based on the average for most filers, which is approximately 21 days after acceptance. Only the IRS knows the status of processing your tax return, whether you owe taxes or are due a refund. In prior years, the IRS issued more than 9 out of 10 refunds to taxpayers in less than 21 days last year. The same results are expected for 2021.
Once you have e-filed your tax return, there are a few ways to check the status of your refund:
You can use the IRS Where’s My Refund? tool (fastest option) or you can download the IRS2Go app to check your refund status.
Here is the general timeline of e-filed returns:
Transmission > Acceptance > Processing > Approval > Refund.

I am very frustrated at this point.. I have been checking on my return with still working on it continues to be the answer every day.. I am way pasted 30 days for a e-file return. It seems they received ok. But now I get no information on what is holding it up. I get refereed to a page that gives different reasons as to why I may not have received it yet. Again not a answer as to what is the problem and why I do not have my return yet!! I get very little money every month so any little bit helps.. I have tried to call all day and am never able to get through so I have to try again day after day. I don't know what else to do.. If someone can get back to me I would appreciate it..
If it has been more than 21 days, please click here to contact the IRS by phone.
