Dear KatrinaLO,
Your link to the forms release data shows that the Form 7203 is unsupported for e-file. That means that every S corporation shareholder that engaged in any one of the transactions listed below technically cannot e-file without it risk being considered a failure to file a complete return. Hypothetically, could the taxpayer e-file without including the Form 7203 and then paper mail the form separately to the IRS? The answer is not clear but perhaps it would be as good of an option as paper filing the entire return which has been a nightmare for both the IRS and taxpayers.
My understanding is that Turbotax's professional tax software will be able to electronically file the Form 7203. Is that correct?
Below is from the IRS instructions to Form 7203. Note how broad the list is as it includes distributions and loan repayments, both extremely common in the S corporation world.
Form 7203 is filed by S corporation shareholders who:
Are claiming a deduction for their share of an aggregate loss from an S corporation (including an aggregate loss not allowed last year because of basis limitations),
Received a non-dividend distribution from an S corporation,
Disposed of stock in an S corporation (whether or not gain is recognized), or
Received a loan repayment from an S corporation.

Yes.

I've just discovered that IRS Form 7203 cannot be electronically filed along with the rest of my return. How do I get my money back that I paid for the Turbo Tax program. It is no help if I cannot electronically file my taxes!!

You have to contact Support.
The forms availability list for Turbo Tax home and business shows that the form 7203 is available and supported now (available for e-file) Why can't you e-file this form with the rest of your return?

It was originally showing that the form was print only. Obviously, that changed recently.
This is good news. Does this mean form 7203 Can be e-filed through turboTax home and business along with our personal tax return as required?
The Form 7203 just became available in Turbotax Deluxe in the last day or two. However, as best as I can tell, it will not be transmitted as part of the e-file return. As a test, I proceeded to the e-file transmission step and it did not appear to be included in the list of forms to be transmitted. Until Turbotax clarifies this I assume their previous announcement that it would be available for paper filing only still seems to be current.
Turbotax - please clarify how you will handle the Form 7203 for electronic filing. Thank you.

Test returns results with a screenshot below.
Click the button above for "All Official Forms for Filing". The one you clicked will only show forms that will be saved as your personal review/records copy.
In fairness to Turbotax, I'm pretty sure that the IRS will have to do their part by enabling their software to receive in the Form 7203.

I should have clarified that the button you clicked will include the Form 7203 in the PAPER copy for mailing. I don't believe it indicates that it will be included in the e-file version. Not all IRS forms can be e-filed which is why Turbotax publishes the list of forms detailed by "available for e-filing" versus "available for paper filing". If I'm mistaken I'm sure Turbotax can correct me.

From the forms availability list.
I know as of last week the Form 7203 wasn't even showing up in my list of available forms. It then showed up, I believe, over the weekend so I prepared the form. However, when I went through the preliminary steps to e-file the return the 7203 was not listed in the Official Forms for Filing". It now is so thank you for your observation. I'm assuming that Turbotax is now including this in the e-file transmission.

Yes, so it appears. Frankly, I am confounded as to why it was initially listed as "print only" with e-file being "unsupported".
