KHM2, you are fear mongering.  The current administration will NOT prevent any refunds from being paid.  You're obviously a democrat.

If your return is being rejected with a message saying "You have an entry on Form 8283, Donee Acknowledgement which required a donee's signature, electronic attachment is not supported," you will need to print out and mail your tax return.

The taxing agency has implemented new standards for 2024 tax returns that essentially says if Form 8382 has a noncash donation where the donee is listed, then the form must be signed.

Please follow the steps here to print and file your tax return.

I was finally able to submit my taxes. The problem wasn’t the form 8283. It was more so the way I was filing my Non-cash charitable deductions.  Once I saw that everyone was reporting that  the form was indeed available, i realized that my issue was that  my charitable deductions were above $5,000.  Not officially providing any tax advice here but I ended up having to modify the value of my goods to below $5000 which meant I had to devalue some of my items. The IRS now requires individuals to authenticate the value of their goods if above $5000, by having the document signed by the charity receiving the goods. Once I did this,  my submissions both State and Federal were able to be filed electronically. Where before TurboTax was telling me I needed to have the document signed and mailed.  My return has been sent and was also accepted by both State and federal that same day. . I’m still a bit disgruntled with TurboTax because their customer service was extremely lacking where I was supposed to get a call back from a supervisor but never did. Not good. With this horrible experience, I probably will not use TT next year.  Good luck.  I hope this helps someone.

I agree. In addition, if non-cash contributions of over $500 are recorded, TurboTax does not support e-file. Instead they "recommend" filing by mail. This is very difficult to believe, first since it is 2025 (I haven't filed by mail since 2001). But second, that an official appraisal and physical signature is required to assess the value of the non-cash gift. Again, it's 2025. Doesn't Intuit know about tools like DocuSign? Unbelievable.

I just checked the "Tax form availability" page at the following link, and Intuit states the form is "Ready for e-file". Which isn't true if the non-cash contributions exceed $500. https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...

I got the same pop-up message. The glitch is that if your non-cash contributions exceed $500, and you have selected "Appraisal" in the Step-by-step guide, you will need an official appraisal and a physical signature. You also need the appraiser's official number (perhaps a Tax Id number) For reasons unknown, there is no way to get this information into TurboTax (like with an e-signature), so Intuit decided to punt and not support e-file for this special case. Unbelievable.

Apparently the reason that TT was able to release the final version of Form 8283 on 2/5 is that the IRS released its final version on 2/4 (five days ago).  Or rather, the IRS withdrew its draft 2024 version of the form, which TT was waiting for, with this statement:

https://www.irs.gov/draft-tax-forms?find=8283

On December 16, 2024, we posted a draft Form 8283 with minor changes from the prior revision. Based on comments from stakeholders, the draft will not be adopted. Taxpayers should continue using the December 2023 revision for tax year 2024.

Kudos to TT for getting this important update out to us so quickly after the IRS action.

I am a bit concerned because I have always filed taxes with TurboTax. However this year looks a bit different , it didn’t really have me an option to choose , it automatically gave me a live support on which did not feel like I needed it . I completed my taxes then at the end add additional coverages from TurboTax if I feel is necessary. Always gone pretty smooth with deductions etc . Being able to file EFILE. Today, same thing as I read from other feedback. I cannot move forward from last step to Efile it is forcing me to file due to a required form 8283 not available online and is making me file by mail which I think is ridiculous with the technology we have. This has never been an issue in the past. As of what I search sounds like is an TurboTax issue. Any form necessary should be available online. I would like to know if this form will become available . Otherwise I will have to seek another location for the first time in many yrs from filing w TurboTax so I can Efile.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW . Thank you!

Good morning, I would definitely  recommend you google and contact "Intuit" directly.  This is the company/corporate to contact who own Turbo Tax.  You definitely should NOT be required to take any "Live" assistance, and you should NOT be required to file by mail in my humble opinion as a long time user of Turbo Tax.

I was able to move forward, after the Turbo Tax fix of form 8283, and successfully file online.  Good luck.
