In TT, there is a three step process to complete, pay and file your taxes. I have successfully completed steps # 1 and # 2, however Step # 3 is not available. The reason being "IRS hasn't finalized a form....". The form is 8283. When will this form be finalized, such that, I can complete Step # 3 and file. I'd like to do so today, the start of the official IRS tax filing day. Thank you.

The Form 8283 Noncash Charitable Contributions for tax year 2024 is estimated to be available for filing on 02/06/2025.

TurboTax is not being truthful. The IRS has no issues with this form. Turbotax just hasnt updated it in their system. I transferred all my information from TurboTax to HRBlock and filed my taxes yesterday. It was accepted by the IRS the same day. Turbotax should be ashamed for lying to its customers.

It appears the form is finalized on the IRS website. Not sure why TurboTax doesn't have it! Very frustrating.
2/13 now ….here we go again TT…
Now the date for form 8283 has been changed to 2/13/2025.
Thanks! Now it shows 2/13. I've never encountered this issue before—what could I be doing wrong? Is there a way to skip this step?
The worst part is that the form itself hasn't changed...the IRS made minor changes to the way the rules for the form were written.
I am *thisclose* to just using something else. 😠
This is total BS. Ive used turbo tax for 25 years and have never had to wait this long for form 8283. Other onlione tax programs have already made form 8283 available to their users. Delaty, delay, delay, this is ridiculous, foirst it was 1/23, then it was 1/26, then 2/8, now its 2/134. What the hell is going on TT? This is the last time I use TT for my online taxes.
Good morning,
I, as well, am a long time customer using Turbo Tax many years. This is nothing short of ridiculous. And, I'm appalled if, the day is moved out until 2/13/2025 or beyond. There was NOT a change in the form, it was a new law mandating that the 8283 total cannot be more than 30% of your AGI. This is a calculation NOT a form change. I will gladly calculate my own, if Turbo Tax opens up Step # 3 allowing us to file. Turbo Tax, please listen, you are potentially about to lose many of your valued customers. And, I for one already paid thinking I was about to file, if I know seek other options I'll be requesting a FULL REFUND asap. Everyone knows, the earlier you file, the most likely you are to receive a refund earlier. PLEASE, please Turbo Tax, get your act together!!!
Also worth noting TT that with the current administration our tax refunds may be further delayed by staffing shortages or worse just not paid….please get this form added asap (I wish they actively used these forums…!!
Very frustrating to have paid for filing and then not be able to file today because of the delay in form 8283. Very misleading by TurboTax and frustrating as I've never had this issue with TurboTax in all the years I have been using them.
Completely agree! They should've revealed a delay BEFORE we paid!
Ridiculous! I'm not using TT next year. Have used them about 15 years. They are pending my State filing (refund) because of a Federal form.
All form availability can be reviewed and check at the link posted below. This link will provide when form 8283 is available and you can view if any changes to the release date occurs.
