@id453 My mistake. I did not click on the product to view the details, it does show Currently unavailable.
As of today, 11/6/24, TurboTax2024 download is available for purchase through Amazon.com. I purchased the Deluxe Federal and State Version and received my Product Key in a confirmation email. You are then directed to www.InstallTurboTax.com to download the file.
After downloading, when I clicked to install the file on my computer it said is was the "TurboTax2023 Installer". Not wanting to mess up my 2023 files I did not install. Can anyone verify that this download will install the TurboTax 2024 program? Or do I wait for another version to be available at www.InstallTurboTax.com?

My information is that the download is still the 2023 version at InstallTurboTax.com.
I purchased 2024 Deluxe version from Amazon. Followed email instructions but was getting 2023 version. Finally, I signed into my account with turbotax and looked for my downloads. There it asked me for the code I received from Amazon and I was able to download the 2024 Deluxe version.
Thanks JMKCPA!
Following your reply I went into Turbotax.intuit.com to the "Do It Yourself - Doing taxes with Desktop software" link. On that page the "Download TurboTax software" link leads to the incorrect 2023 installer download. But using "Intuit Account - Desktop login" allowed me to enter the Product Key I received from Amazon and download and install the 2024 version.
Now I can plug in my estimates for 2024 and do some year end tax planning.
Slight change in subject: Will the online version for 2024 also be available in mid-Nov? Seems like in the past few years it hasn't become available until early Dec.
Just be forewarned that any results you get should be considered GROSS estimates.
Historically, any version before mid-late January ends up using many of the prior year's settings....thus, even though it may say 2024, anything done now may be using 2023 tax brackets and limits (deductible IRA contributions...etc) all until the IRS actually finalizes their own 2024 forms (many will not final until well into January of 2025, in this case).
(and, any bugs you think you find may be ignored by the software folks until the final forms are implemented ...late Jan - Feb)
2024 TurboTas not available yet, when will it be available?

TurboTax 2024 for desktop download is available for purchase on this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
TurboTax 2024 for the online editions should be available in early December
Seems the correct answer, at least via Amazon. is November 6, unless I missed seeing it recently.
SteamTrain,
Thanks for the warning on using the initial version of TurboTax. I always start a new TurboTax file after receiving my tax documents before preparing the final return.
However, for many years I have made estimates of my current year taxes using the prior year TurboTax version, and updating them when the new version comes out. Each year I prepare a 1-page Excel spreadsheet verifying all the calculations that affect my personal return.
I have already entered my estimates into the new 2024 TurboTax Deluxe and have verified that it has the correct tax rates, tax brackets and standard deductions for my filing status. TurboTax does not yet reflect the increased 2024 contribution limits for IRAs and Health Savings Accounts.
I find that using the new version of TurboTax when it comes out works rather well in seeing how different amounts for a potential IRA to ROTH conversion would affect my taxes for the year. I realize the limitations of using TurboTax before it is fully updated.
I have the same situation, purchased through Amazon, but can't get the 2024 download. Thanks to your advice, I have logged in to my Intuit account, but can't figure out how to get to my downloads. It's only showing me past purchases. Can you point me in the right direction?

You can try logging in here:
I couldn't find the downloads, even after logging in.
HOWEVER - called TurboTax support and they suggested clearing cookies and cache.
Download worked like a charm!!
