Your 1095-A is available at your HealthCare.Gov account.
You filed your tax return without reconciling the Advanced Premium Tax Credit that was provided for your health insurance premiums paid last year.
You will need to wait until you receive a Letter 12C from the IRS to provide you a fax number that you will be able to fax your Form 1095-A and Form 8962 in so they can complete the processing of your tax return and release any refund you may be due.
You can access your return to update your information if you used TurboTax Online, simply log in to your account and select “Amend a return that was filed and accepted.
You are not going to actually amend your return, you are going to update the Health insurance information and then print out your Form 8962 to fax in.
If you do not receive your Form 1095-A in the mail in the future, you can log in to your HealthCare.Gov account and access your form by the end of January each year.
Hello,
I filed my 2019 taxes on 02/24/2020 and then received a letter from the IRS asking to complete the 8962 form and provide a copy of the 1095-A and submitted those on 04/24/2020. I received my state refund a week after the initial submission.
I have not seen a refund from the IRS yet for my federal. I did get someone (a much lesser amount) deposited in my account in October, but not from the IRS (listed from Tax Products). I do not know if that was my 2019 Federal Refund or credit back. Not to mention that I also received from the IRS a letter about some interest paid or credited (what is that about?).
I am trying to talk to someone at the IRS or TurboTax to see what is going on. I'd like to file my 2020 taxes, but do not know if I should wait until the 2019 return is resolved.
The deposit you received in October is quite possibly your 2019 tax refund; if you elected to have your Turbo Tax preparation fee deducted from your refund, then that process is handled by a third party - Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG). You could have possibly received a lesser than anticipated amount due to a refund offset; please review this FAQ.
I just received my 1095-C yesterday, and I have been waiting for five weeks for the IRS to process my return. It still says processing on the website, and I'm at my wits end with this. Do I need to send them the info on the 1095, or not?
The 1095-c is not entered anywhere on an income tax return so you don't have to do anything with that form that just showed up.
