Hi,
The download versions only seem to come for one operating system - Mac or Windows. Couple of questions:
- If I buy the Mac version download and later realize that I'd like to run on a Windows machine is that possible? Or will I just need to buy the disc?
- What are the differences between the Mac and Windows versions? Primarily I'm interested in Home and Business
Thanks

The software is the same whether on a PC or Mac. The download is specific to a PC or Mac; the CD will install on either one. So if you are conflicted about which computer to install it on, get the CD.
The software is the same whether for a Windows or Mac operating system. The CD includes installation files for both Windows and Mac.
If you purchase the download of one system and then decide that you want to use the other system then you would need to contact TurboTax support and they will push the installation file for the other system to your download account at no charge.
Not sure if you can download both Windows and Mac. They are making installation changes this year and you get a License Code even with a CD.
There aren't any differences in the tax part of the program just in running the program. The Mac version automatically checks for updates each time you start. With Windows you can select update options.
The Mac version automatically saves your return. In Windows you have to manually save it although it will ask if you want to save when you exit or start a new return.
There is a difference in the Home & Business if you want to prepare W2s or 1099s. If you are using the Mac Home & Business CD/Download program you can only prepare W2s and 1099s using the Online QEF - Quick Employer Forms. In the Windows Home & Business you can also prepare them locally on your computer in the built in W2/1099 Reporter.
Thats all I can think of right now.
here are minimum pc requirements for software on windows operating system
and these are for mac
