W-2 entry form has a check box for "Paid family leave:" Should one check this if there was PFL stated on paystubs but not W-2?

Also, what is the effect of this box? I checked it and did not get any followup questions on it in TurboTax?

No, you would not indicate the W2 as Paid Family Leave unless you received the money for Paid Family Leave- the amount you see on the paycheck stubs is usually the premiums paid for the insurance to pay the Family Leave (it should also be included in Box 14 of the W2 for the year.)  If you receive Paid Family Leave, most states will exclude the income so you may not see it until you get to the state section of TurboTax.

I did receive the PFL through my employer (75% of my salary) where they accounted it on the pay stubs, but did not indicate anything on W-2. So my questions are still:

1. should I check the PFL box that shows up when entering W-2? Or in other words, when should one check this?

2. and regardless of (1), what happens/ what is implied by checking this box because I do not see any difference in the assembled returns? TurboTax does not ask how much of W-2 is reported as PFL nor follows up anywhere on this.

Thank you

You should complete your W-2 exactly as it is presented to you.  Often employers have insurance to cover these events and you would get a separate tax form from them.  This looks like the employer paid it directly.  In either case it is taxed like your regular income.  That is why there was no change in the calculation of your return.

Hi. My employer integrated the PFL into W2 to make things simple, so we didn't receive 1099G nor W2 from insurance company. The year-end pay stubs have the exact details of PFL amount, but nothing shown on W2.

Should I check or not check the box "I eared all or part of this income as paid family leave"?, is there a place where I can specify the exact amount as paid family leave.

Yes, check the box if it applies.  As stated above the paid family leave is taxable regardless so you will not see any change in calculations from the the W2.   Some states will not tax paid family leave so checking that box will trigger questions in your state interview if it applies.
