USAA Credit Card Transactions not Updating on mint.com

For those of you following this thread, check out Monarch.  I'm migrating to that tool, found it works with USAA (all account types), and has features Mint has disabled since I started using it years ago.   It costs, but it's worth it not to have to deal with the lack of support, and to get a few more cool features.

@Anonymous Your suggestion is interesting but Monarch and other paid tools, they are not the same as Mint. Mint is a free (ad based) tool and Monarch is a paid subscription ($14.99 a month or $99.99 a year). I suspect any fee based budgeting tool that allows the import of data is going to work. The issue with Mint and the other free tools like fullview and others,  they rely on inexpensive ways to get data from other financial providers without having to maintain a lot of software. That is why they use screen scraping as the method for data retrieval. It is effective and flexible. I have discussed this several times in this thread. And before someone jumps on the security question, there is nothing more secure about using a software APUI or a screen scraping tool. They both get their data after authentication so there is no security difference in the 2.

I guess I don't get your point, @kajoyce65 .    How it works (different or not) is irrelevant.   Monarch *works* with USAA credit cards, and this whole thread is about how Mint doesn't *work* with USAA credit cards.  I'll pay for something that works with USAA credit cards.    🤷🏻‍  Maybe others will as well, so I was trying to be helpful.    If someone doesn't want to pay for something that *works* with USAA credit card transactions, that's cool, too.

@Anonymous if you read the thread you would see the problem is only with the free budgeting tools. I suspect Quicken also works with USAA's credit card data but it is also a pay tool from Intuit. 

The main issue here is people are not happy with USAA making an unannounced change that broke Mint's and many other tools to import transaction data. If you want to pay for the ability to import your USAA credit card transactions that is your choice, many people opted to close their USAA credit cards and get a Wells Fargo or other rewards cards with similar or better rewards than USAA.

Same problem here. It really is a shame since 95% of my transactions are on that card… might be time to move to another tool if this one can’t keep up.

Please fix this USAA credit card update problem.   This has been down for 4 months.  i need this to help file 2022 taxes!

There is a known issue with USAA credit card transactions pulling into Mint. They are working on this. If you chat with their support team, they can set it up for you to be notified once this is fixed.

My small FCU credit card has not updated in 2 years and Mint keeps telling me they dont know why and there is nothing they can do.

@TFISH42 I doubt the issue is the same. I would also try another free tool to see if that also has the same issue.  Multiple tools having the same problem usually points a finger at the source data versus the tool attempting to access it.

This likely should have been a new thread since USAA's credit card data imported into Mint until USAA decided to make an unannounced change which broke it and then hide the fact for months while they tried to blame Mint or say they they don't support Mint as a budgeting tool.

FYI...Just took your advice and added usaa credit card to fullview in fidelity.com.

Seemed to work with transactions, we'll see how many transactions it continues to get...

So the problem is repairable.

Did that after I got off the phone with USAA, which basically stated they aren't taking any further action.

I didn't have it connected to Fidelity until now, so not sure how the transition went in August/September of last year, but it works at the moment.
