If you have purchased the TurboTax 2020 and it is not updating, they must take every measure to make sure it is a program issue and not the user's lack of computer knowledge. They now have a patch R17 that corrects the download issues. Go to their website support for the manual update patch. To their credit, they were very patient and understanding, guiding me through each step. I also determined that part of my issue may have been my virus software bc I didn't realize I had 3 different ones running. Two were firmware.

Problem is, the latest update shown on the page dedicated for links to manual TurboTax updates, lists R15.1 as the latest update for TurboTax 2020...
Latest patch s R18.0 2020*180*0100

Copy the link to your browser, delete the [] and insert the numbers above (no *) but put . between each group
You do not need to put R18.0 just the other numbers

Turbotax posted the Manual Update Link (in this thread somewhere) , then when I went to download the R15.1 it shows the URL .. just a matter of putting in another release number .. If it is valid it will come up, if not it will not. You can easily see the update format when you go to download the file (year, release, version) ..Turbotax really should keep the manual update page for the Superpatches up to date.
Ah, yes i see. should continue to work unless the last 4 digits change from 0100 in future updates
It is not a **bleep**ing computer issue.
TT's 2020 is not updating (everything else does update). I have tried everthing.
There should be an option to run without updating so I can move forward.
If you some stupid community TT forum worker then get out the way so intuit can put
some paid professional to fix this **bleep** problem.
This problem has been going on since December 2020. It is now Feb 22nd.
FIX THE **bleep** THING> We PAID for this. Otherwise I will return this to COSTCO.

This website somehow edits the URL thinking there is phone number in it.
So here is what goes between the "[phone number removed]"
Replace the * by . inthe following and insert above replacing "[phone number removed]"
2020*180*0100
Why cant TT support team provide this?
This freebee forum community support things is a way for companies to charge full money for crappy software and then expect the users to provide support while the executives at these software companies like intuit get fat bonus
Correction to the link
Stop sending people to manual upgrade link - it has the old R15.1 and even that one tries to update to 16, 17, 18 and gets stuck in update failing.,
TT get your act together.
We are tired of this ..... wasted to too much time here.
All this reboot, run as adminstrator and turn of antivirus does NOT help.
Right now the only thing that helps right manual update. Please update the manual update URL to the latest
till you finally fix the update issue.

I used this patch and launched the update. Said I am up to date, but I still can not get the form 8814 that was supposed to be available today. Spent 30+ minutes with phone support and they did not help and eventually the line went dead. Never received a return call.
Did you download the R18 patch, which is the most up-to-date? Follow the thread herein to see additional comments.

The Form 8814 is available. Update your software. Click on Online and the click on Check for Updates.
If you get the message your software is at the latest release and still cannot access the Form 8814 use the manual update.
