Unable to edit/add income. Just get a blank page.

For any other mac users using TT2022 desktop who are seeing a blank page for personal income or anywhere else..

in the desktop application menu bar, click:

View

Go To Forms (apple-T or command-T)

Click Form 1040

Click the empty line/box for "Total amount from Form(s) W-2, box..."

manually enter your w-2 stub info (employer info, your info, wages, taxes, etc)

Welcome back to the paper edition of doing taxes! (lol) It took me a minute since my brain wasn't on, due to relying on intuit's "easystep" system. That's the workaround. No need to create a text file on the mac version.

We'd love to help you complete your tax return but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?

  • Where are you in the program?
  • What form are you trying to post?
  • Have you already entered something and you're trying to get back?

I'm trying to enter income.

Goldman Sachs is in the system but no amount came up. Said review needed. When I hit edit, next screen said ok, got it. Hit continue and just got a blank page.

Please try logging completely out of the TurboTax website, then clear your browser's cache and delete cookies. A full or corrupted cache can keep TurboTax from functioning properly. If that doesn't work, try a different browser.

I have the same problem, but I am working from an installed copy of the program.  It is premier edition.

Thank you.

I am in the process of entering income.  Specifically Social Security income.  I have enter other things, and just got to the point of entering Soc. Sec. income.

It's unusual for the screen to go blank and I have not experienced this.  I suggest the following and sometimes a reboot does the trick too, which seems nonsensical but can deliver wanted results just like clearing the cache and cookies.

In this situation, first please try clearing the cookies and cache.   It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis.

  • Close your TurboTax return first.

Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example.  Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give  you options.

Once this is complete open your return to see if you are able to complete your social security income (Form SSA-1099).  Please update here if your experience continues.

I have cleared the cache and rebooted (even though I am working from an installed version, not through a browser).  I still get a blank page.  I have been able to add everything else on the page and now all I get is a blank page.  I need to get this done ASAP as I am headed out of town.

@sodasprings You are using the TurboTax desktop editions, correct?  If so, is your operating system Windows or Mac?

@sodasprings If you are using a Windows operating system, try this procedure -

Save your tax return and close the TurboTax program

Right click on the TurboTax icon

Click on Properties

Click on the Compatibility tab

Check the box Run this program as an administrator

Click on Apply and OK

Start the TurboTax program again and see if the problem persists

1. Go to desk top find the red circle with a check inside

2. Right click icon.

3. Wait until a box shows up.

4. Find run as Administrator

5. Click on that... that should fix you right up.

6. Click on run as administration every time you want to work in Turbo-Tax.
