Two people filing using turbotax premium on mac

Hello,

I have two adult kids in school, both in Missouri. I bought Turbo Tax Premium, and me in Arizona and my daughter in Missouri each filed 2024 return from respective computers, with me from Arizona on Windows and my daughter with Mac in Missouri.

My son in Missouri is now trying to file his. Since I allowed 5 licesnes, I asked him to use my daughter's Mac where I paid for Missouri state also. He was able to prepare the return completely but it is not allowing him to submit electrnoically. But he seem to have used my daughter's Mac user account to log in and prepare his return. 

Pl. clarify the following.

1) Turbo Tax allows one free federal filing. Since my daughter already used that to file hers, is my sone getting prevented from filing from her Mac user login?

2) Can he create another Mac user login on my dauhter's computer, prepare his return and then will he be able to file it electronically?

3) Basically I want to see if we can save $45/- charge to get state, if he has to install Turbo tax premium from  scratch on his computer separeately using the 3rd of the 5 licenses I got. Hope not. Hope (2) works,

#1. No.  You can efile 5 federal returns from the Desktop program.  Don’t know why he can’t efile his return.  There should be a message or error code.   Hopefully he started a new return and didn’t overwrite her return.   

And by the way, you have Premier right?  Premium is the Online version.

Ya, it is turbo tax premim and we have to download it via web. He so far did it this way.

- My daughter installed 2nd copy out of 5 licenses.

- She had to pay MI state for 45, and filed hers.

- He logged into her Mac user account and tried to prepare and file but not able to.

So, I asked him to try to create his own Mac user on my daughter's laptop and try file it from there to save state's 45 dollar.

Don’t know what his problem could be.  The $45 was to buy the second state program since you already got AZ as the free state.   Then you know it is $25 to efile each state return (including the first one).  He shouldn’t need to buy the state again.   

Did you say he was able to prepare his return but couldn’t efile it?   Was there an error message or code?  Was he able to submit it but it rejected?
