Is there an update when the forms will be available to download?
A couple years ago, Intuit agent talked me into upgrading to the Enterprise Solutions. It cost around $1500 compared to my QB desktop premium around half. They keep raising the price and now it cost over $2000 a year. You must upgrade each year. I called to switch back, but guess what? You can't switch back once you install the Enterprise package. Now I'm screwed for over $2,000 each year.
FYI ... you only need to update if you use one of the tools like payroll or importing from outside sources. Otherwise you can use the downloaded version for several years ... I have been using the 2017 program until just this year when I purchased the 2023 program. Your other choices are ... use the online QB version (it is a monthly subscription service) or find another bookkeeping program.
I have several companies that all use the payroll feature. I was told that I must update to the new version each year. I can't change to on line. I need my desktop version.
If you want to import your QB info into TT2023 - you have to be QB2023 or higher - 2021 QB Desktop pro - it would NOT show me files to import. Install 2024 and bingo! Files show up ready to import!
What is REALLY FUNNY is all of these files that show (4 different QBB files) - THEY ARE ALL IN QB Desktop 2023 format!!!! I never opened them up and converted them to the 2024 QB Desktop format.
Stated another way, I installed the 2024 desktop program but I have not used it and was able to import my 2023 QB Desktop files. Why did I need to upgrade to 2024 again if TT2023 can import my 2023 Desktop Pro files?
Ive used this program for a very long time - maybe 20+ years.... Ive never had to jump through hoops like this and to be honest, we shouldn't have to. I can swallow hard on the forced upgrade - but would have been good if Intuit was upfront about it - ie. "our QB import wont work unless on QB 2023" - No I have to spend hours researching on the internet....
Now the Ohio state forms / download / install / availability..... come on guys! Business Taxes in Ohio are due 3/15... Its 2/8 - still no Ohio forms
Dead on accurate they all say 2/16 now.
So Massachusetts non-residential is one of them? My return was rejected a couple of times. They said there'd be a software update Feb., 8. I refiled again, was rejected, now there's another update for Feb.,15. So much for paying to get my taxes done early and without issues, plus the cost!
The State of MA is making some changes to forms which is delaying e-filing. Please come back after February to e-file your return.
I am not in MA I am in PA and the first issue is not about filing forms it is that the software will NOT even download to install for PA even though TurboTax sold it to all of the users making it seem like it was ready and available (never stated that this was a pre-order purchase). Also, the "come back after February" is utterly not acceptable for business filers as the IRS requires forms to be filed by Mar 15th for businesses so getting the software update available to work on documents for just days before they are required to be filed will not fly with users.
Does anyone have a date for Pennsylvania Partnership Forms? Is there a link?
As of now, Pennsylvania partnership forms are tentatively scheduled for February 23 release.
See the Tax form availability page to monitor when your relevant forms will be ready in TurboTax:
You may want to start forwarding this up the chain to supervisors that if in fact the current "tentative" date of PA partnership software (and many others I presume) is 2/23 this is leaving the customers/users less than 3 weeks to work through their tax returns in order to get them submitted in time to meet regulations. Additionally, I cannot confirm exactly when this product was first being sold (without stating it was a pre-sale I must add) but I do know I purchased the product that I was not informed was not actually available on Jan 23rd. Since then I have been told it would be available the following Friday now 5 times (so this is now the 4th consecutive weekly delay). Selling a product that is in fact not available and then not providing it timely enough for the consumers to be able to avoid penalties from the government is in fact going to subject Intuit / TurboTax to a class action lawsuit. Particularly highlighting Intuit's gross negligence in this is: 1) you are knowingly selling a product that is not available, 2) that you are not capable of delivering timely, 3) the delay is not a result of the form availability from the actual taxing authorities as Intuit has been claiming, and 4) lying to customers about when it will be available causing customers to believe it will be ready when stated and waiting to the point where it has now extensively made it impossible for consumers to timely pursue other alternatives at this late date without extremely high cost repercussions associated with expedited turnaround needs. "Tentatively" is not an acceptable delivery date at this point in time.
I think I have this figured out..... Anyone watch the Super Bowl?
Costs A LOT of money to advertise during the Super Bowl!
Intuit is giving 1,000,000 away too - I guess I understand now "why" I had to upgrade and why they took my $$ / sold me something that didn't technically work when I got it....
Thanks Intuit!
I have the exact same problem. TT published a utility for 2022 called Clean States that was supposed to fix this as they had this issue in the past, but there is none yet for 2023. I am having an issue with the GA state software. Paid, but loops back to the purchase page every time. Hopefully, if enough of us complain, they will take notice. It's a real issue.
Yes confirmed - 2022 utility DOES NOT WORK!
as of 2/15 - Ohio still not working
Those were some AWESOME Super Bowl adds though... 😉 Those sure hit on time and without a hitch!
