Dear Sir/Madam, in prior years a user did not have to connect to the internet prior to each daily use of the program. Apparently this has changed. it is causing difficulty to practitioners who do not have wifi all day long. Please change the program back to making internet connection optional when booting up the program. thanks, JC

If you are using the TurboTax online web-based editions then the only way to use those editions is through the internet.

 

If you are using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions,  you can change the update frequency preferences.

Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen.  Click on Updater Preferences.  Change the update from Automatically download updates.
