I am behind on filing tax return... I'm trying to import the TD Ameritrade 2022 1099 form into my TurboTax 2022 software. When I enter the acct # and document ID, the TurboTax software returns "1099 forms not available for User ID." I think this likely due to the fact that TD Ameritrade was purchased in 2024 by Charles Schwab, and so TurboTax is attempting to sign me onto a website (TD Ameritrade) that no longer exists.
Does anyone know how to overcome this, as I'll have the same issue when I work on the 2023 return.

You cannot import information for past years. You have to enter the information manually.
That's not exactly true. I remember that I did this import for a previous year's 1099s in the past without issues. But since the merger with Schwab, this doesn't seem to work anymore.
That has never been true. You must be mis remembering what you did in the past. Like in 2023 you could import your 1099s from 2022. The companies usually take down the special prior year import files when the new year comes out.
Wonder if anyone has the "official word" from either Intuit or TD Ameritrade/Schwab stating whether this should work for prior years or not, so that we don't have to keep guessing or waste time trying?
