It’s not a glitch . It’s a new approach by IRS to provide more details on what the hold up is.
So instead of saying  “it’s still being processed” (which meant information was missing,) or “being processed” (which meant that they got the information they needed to proceed) they now provide more detail. It’ll be awhile before EVERYONE. Gets these enhanced status .

I am trying to verify on ID. me however it says they are unavailable to verify it or what. It also says cirrently being review so I should do nothing? If anyone knows what to do please let me know! I got the same message. I put my info in to verify everything what correct on the verification Id.Me. What’s going on ?

I have this same message. When i created an “I.D. ME” account for the IRS to verify my identity, i went through the process with submitting my drivers license then it told me it couldnt use the online verification to verify me. Now its asking if i received a letter in the mail from the IRS with a 14-digit control number?? In parentheses it states forms: 5071C, 5447C, 5747C or 6331C. Anyone else have this?

There are risks to filing before the IRS starts processing returns.   This year they stopped taking test returns for almost a week prior to the 1/29 opening date which is unusual ... normally once they start taking test returns they continue doing so.  We had suspected that there was an issue in the system and that they were working on it and some/all of the early accepted test returns would/could have some issues.  (this has happened in the past and back then some returns were forever lost and had to be refiled or delayed in processing for weeks/months) 

Sadly there is NOTHING you can do at this time but wait patiently and  if you do get something in the mail respond as directed in a timely fashion.

I just called them as well. They said the same thing.. didn’t have a letter sent out but after 21 days if I didn’t have a letter to call them back. They couldn’t provide anymore info… waiting game

I’m still getting that message when I check my federal return status, but I received my state return today in my bank account.

I called them and they said the same thing. but like i know we are not gonna get anything in th email cuz like why would we? Maybe its just a generic thing
