Hi i was wondering if someone didn't carry me on their taxes last year, and they do it this year, will that reflect on my tax return next year of 2019?

Each tax year is separate.  If you are claimed as a dependent for 2018, it does not affect the tax return you file for tax year 2019 when you prepare and file it in 2020.  Do you need help with determining whether someone can claim you as a dependent?  Did you have income of your own?  You might still need to file a tax return of your own that says you can  be claimed as someone else's dependent for 2018 if you had any self-employment income over $400, or if you had tax withheld from your paychecks and want a tax refund.

There is a rule that says IF somebody else CAN claim you as a dependent, yo uare not allowed to claim yourself. If you have sufficient income (usually more than $12,000), you can & should still file taxes. In TurboTax, you indicate that somebody else can claim you as a dependent, at the personal information section.

In the past, we would say you just doesn’t get your own $4150 exemption (deduction). But, beginning in 2018, personal (and dependent) exemptions have been eliminated. So, for you, your tax refund (or tax bill) is the same whether you are someone's dependent or not (if your only income is from working).
