This 8951 E-T is very confusing. I had a 401 k distribution and had the taxes deducted. Why do I have to file this form and that was filed with my 2020 return
The Form 8915-E was only used in tax year 2020 and it will not be used again for any other tax year.
The Form 8915-F, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Retirements is used in tax year 2021 to report a split distribution made in 2020 over 3 years. If you did not split the 2020 distribution you do not need the form 8915-F.
Form 8915-F, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Retirements is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/31/2022 (maybe sooner)
It states form 8951 E-T. Is that different

There is no such IRS Form 8951-E. The T indicates Taxpayer.
There is an IRS Form 8951 but that form is not included in the TurboTax program.
Form 8951, Additional User Fee Payment for Open Application for Voluntary Correction Program (VCP)
Where are you seeing this form being posted? Are you sure it does not indicate 8915-E or 8915-F?
I also have the same message. I cant find any answers.
"It looks like some of your tax forms aren't ready
You've done a great job starting your taxes early, but it turns out some areas aren't yet ready for your specific tax

The message is incorrect. There is not a Form 8915-E for tax year 2021. As previously stated the Form 8915-E was only used for tax year 2020 and no other tax year.
I'm getting the same message about the 8915E-T: Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments
I have the latest version updated as of 3/8/2022 but I am still getting messages that 8915E is not ready. The twist is that when I go to forms mode on Turbo tax (desktop download version) I see the form 8915 and another bunch of 8915 XXX forms.
What I see is an upsidedown red exclamation mark in front of capital asset sale (which I didn't have) assuming it's talking about retirement assets. I sold some in 2019 and they were part of my 2019 tax year. in 2020 I only sold my ESPP that didn't generate any 1099R but 1099B which was entered, yet I am still getting an error message that 8915E is not ready.
Please help!
The form is still no properly showing in Turbo Tax (aa of 3/10/22). The form says "NOT FOR RETURN". When will this be fixed so I can complete my taxes with this form (8915-E-T and 8915-E-S)??
According to my research last night, 8915E is no longer valid for 2021 tax filing. IrRS has released 8915F for 2021 on 2/24 but TT is still sleeping to update their products..
For tax year 2021, Form 8915-F is replacing Form 8915-E. The form should be available for e-file in another 2 weeks.
Federal Individual Form Availability.
How do i cancel payment, I dont want to wait another 2 weeks to file?
We are only tell you what TURBOTAX says! IT is saying I cannot file the taxes because 8915E-T is not available yet. If the answer is another form (-F), that's on Turbotax to fix and you should be answering that question. We can only tell you what the Turbotax error is saying; if we start changing the error messages, it's going to get much more confusing.
They say the form is available, but my tax return will not file because it says it is waiting on the form, which is odd, because it is filled out in TurboTax. Can you provide help?

For 2021, it's actually form 8915-F that you are looking for. Please see the post above from our specialist FangxiaL made on March, 12th and DoninGA made on Feb, 26th.
