I filed in 2017 using the download version of Turbo Tax, and now the online version doesn't show that I used Turbo Tax. How do I fix this?

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions so the online account has no knowledge of the return filed using the desktop editions.

That’s odd, because prior years returns, which I also used the download version to complete, are showing up in the online information.

Anyway, I’m just trying to find a way to get my 2017 info uploaded.

The only way a tax return will be listed for the online account is if the tax return was started using the online editions.  TurboTax does not store any type of information online for tax returns started/completed/filed using the desktop editions.
You cannot upload a 2017 desktop data file to the online editions, nor store a desktop tax return in the online My Docs storage area.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for My Docs - <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1898861-what-is-my-docs">https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1898861...>

You can transfer a 2017 tax data file stored on your computer to the 2018 online editions.  See this TurboTax support FAQ for transferring the 2017 data file on a computer to the online editions - <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1900883-how-do-i-transfer-last-year-s-return-into-turbotax-online"...>

Okay, I looked through that info, and while it would have been helpful when I was preparing my 2018 return, it looks like uploading the .tax2017 file at this point wipes out the 2018 return, and I would have to start over. There is no value in that for me, and I still find it odd that the 2017 return is the only one that doesn't show as me using TT; all the other years prior to that show up.

The only reason I am asking this question is that the IRS wants me to pay interest on under withholding last year, even though the calculated value of our withholding and estimated payments made is 114%, well above the 85% the IRS is requiring to waive the interest, as a part of the new tax plan. I suspect if I had been able to pull in the 2017 return when doing my 2018 taxes, TT would have handled the calculation, and gotten the IRS off my back.

Flaw in the software, as far as I see it.
