Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Okay, I looked through that info, and while it would have been helpful when I was preparing my 2018 return, it looks like uploading the .tax2017 file at this point wipes out the 2018 return, and I would have to start over. There is no value in that for me, and I still find it odd that the 2017 return is the only one that doesn't show as me using TT; all the other years prior to that show up.
The only reason I am asking this question is that the IRS wants me to pay interest on under withholding last year, even though the calculated value of our withholding and estimated payments made is 114%, well above the 85% the IRS is requiring to waive the interest, as a part of the new tax plan. I suspect if I had been able to pull in the 2017 return when doing my 2018 taxes, TT would have handled the calculation, and gotten the IRS off my back.
Flaw in the software, as far as I see it.
