Tax Year Prior to 2020: Am I eligible for stimulus package check from IRS?

We haven't gotten our first Stimulus check.  We filed the 2018 and 2019 tax and used Turbo Tax.  Can you please give me reasons why they haven't given the Stimulus check?  I was losing hope and having a doubt if I will use Turbo Tax again.

Please get back to me.

Thank you.

The IRS can look at your 2018 or 2019 return to issue a stimulus check.  If they do not have a 2018 return then you may be waiting for them to finish processing 2019 before they will be able to use it to issue your stimulus check.

TurboTax has no control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it for you or tell you when the IRS will issue it.

And in case you are not aware--Congress has not voted for a second stimulus check.

I filed as Married Filing Separate and my adjusted gross income (AGI) was about $60,000 for the 2019 TAX.

My husband and I are no longer live together.

However, my husband filed a joint return (AGI over $200,000) for the 2018 Tax.

@thkim315 You should be eligible for the $1200 stimulus if the IRS used your 2019 return.  But they could look at either your 2018 or 2019 return to issue a stimulus check, and we do not know which one they looked at.  we do not know when you filed your 2019 MFS return.   if they used 2018 then you would not have received a stimulus check for a married couple because your joint income was too high.

If you did not receive it this year, you can get the stimulus money next year when you file a 2020 return in early 2021.

Thank you for the information!

I filed my 2019 MFS return on May, but I have not recieved the $1200 stimulus.

So will I get the $1200 stimulus when I file a 2020 return in early 2021?

@thkim315 You should.  You do not say if you are still married.  If you are still legally married at the end of 2020 your filing choices for 2020 will be to file married filing jointly or married filing separately.  Or...if you have lived apart for at least the last six months of 2020 and are the custodial parent of the children, you could file as Head of Household for 2020.  Your marital status is determined as of December 31, 2020.

I just wanted to let someone know that I paid the balance as stated on the account on the day I paid. Two weeks later, they notified me that I owe $33 more in "fees." Since I paid what the total stated account balance, I don't think I owe them anything. What do I do?

Thank you,

@blackwolfchickadee Sorry---but we have no idea what you are posting about.  We do not know what balance you are referring to, or what fees you are referring to.

This is the user forum for questions about your income tax returns.  Are you trying to ask about something you paid to the IRS or to your state?

I did not receive the first stimulus check.  Is my Social Security counted to determine my eligibility for stimulus funds?

I FILED MY 2018 RETURN W/AGI OF 13,040 AND RECIEVED REFUNDS IN 2019.  TO THIS DATE I HAVE NOT RECIEVED MY STIMULUS PAYMENT.  WHEN ATTEMPTING E-FILE THE 2019 RETURN IT IS REJECTED STATING THAT IRS DOESN'T HAVE RECORD OF MY 2018 AGI?
