Tax Amending?

My state taxes went through when I filed them in July, but my federal i filed in April through turbotax and it said it was "accepted". Problem is, when I did my stimulus form, I didnt understand it correctly and accidentally put myself as a non-filer. Ive already gotten the state refund back, but im not sure how to fix my federal tax info so that I AM a filer, especially since it's so late in the year. What do I do?

Tax Amending?

Since your federal tax return was filed and accepted in April, there is nothing you need to do concerning use of the non-filer website.

The IRS has your 2019 tax return and will process the return.

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

Tax Amending?

It is not clear what you did.  Did you use the IRS non-filer site just to get a stimulus check?  If you did that, then you will now run into trouble if you are trying to e-file a "real" tax return.  The system will show that you already filed and reject your e-file.  Here is what to do:

If you used the IRS non-filer site to get a stimulus check, you will now get a  “duplicate SSN” rejection.  We are seeing people who did not notice or ignored the warning on that site about using it if they would be filing a tax return.

The IRS can look at your 2018 or 2019 return to issue a stimulus check.  If they do not have a 2018 return then you may be waiting for them to finish processing 2019 before they will be able to use it to issue your stimulus check.

TurboTax has no control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it for you or tell you when the IRS will issue it. Refer to the sites linked below:

You can call the IRS hotline at 1-800-919-9835 to get updates on your stimulus payment.
