I'm having the same issue. Let me know if you get it resolved
I am having the same problem. Have use TurboTax for over 10 years and this is the first time this has happened. Must be a technical issue ~ I am going to call tech support now.
When attempting to e-file a return in the TurboTax for Windows CD/Download software, this message appears:
There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you’ll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates.
However, after updating, the same message continues to reappear, resulting in an endless loop.
Workaround
Some customers have been able to successfully e-file with this workaround:
Thank you Dawn C. I'm actually using the Mac version but will attempt to go through your suggestions. Fingers crossed something works.
Your return probably contains a form or schedule that has not yet been finalized. For current information on forms availability please click on the applicable link below:
In TurboTax CD/Download, if there are updates available you will be prompted to download updates when you open the program. You can also update the program while you have it open by following these steps:
I uninstalled TurboTax Deluxe and reinstalled. Same problem. I checked both the Federal and State forms and "updates" are available for all my forms, so I assume my program has been updated. I do not want to file via mail because, honestly, this is why I use TurboTax and I have already paid the eFiling fee, my file acknowledges my payment too.
With all the complaints stating the same problem over and over, it seems it is clearly a TurboTax issue and should be address immediately with an update rather than having users jump through hoops.
Update would be appreciated.
Update: I just checked for updates again in TurboTax. One was found and I updated. I was then able to eFile. Appears they "fixed" the problem. Yay!
