@Justwannafile Please refer to the Desktop Software End License user agreement & the online Section Titled: How much does it cost to file my return electronically . Hope this helps.
How do I pay the $25.00 to e-file my State tax? I can't find how to pay it, and I can't e-file without paying the fee first. Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Donna C

If you really want to pay to e-file the state return in the desktop software you just have to keep going through the screens in the FILE section until you come to the payment screen. If you choose e-filing for the state return that screen will come up and then you can enter your credit card information.
It's asking me to enter a State E-file confirmations number. Where do I get that number? I am not getting a screen to enter a credit card number.
Thanks,
Donna Canterbury
Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2020 returns will soon be permanently closed. You had until midnight on Friday, October 15 to finish and attempt to e-file; if your e-file was rejected you have until October 20 to make corrections and re-file. Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file.
If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2020 return, you now have another week to finish using the online program before the online system closes for the 2020 returns. After that you will need to use the desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device). Save the .taxfile ASAP so you can continue in the downloaded program and not have to start again from scratch.
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
